Is there a difference in processors for a regular desktop and an all in one touch screen?
I want to get a touch screen all in one computer and the one I want doesn't have a good enough processor in it. If I were to get a new one to put in an all in one touch screen, is there a special kind? Or are they all the same?
if it was me, and i wanted to do this, i would stick with a desktop setup. you can get tiny cases (not like a mac mini mind you but small) that will take a matx/micro atx. you'll be looking for media center cases. then fix the machine as you see fit. two reasons to do this is, desktops was easier to work on (not to mention cheaper parts in some cases) and the lack of upgradability that is typically associated with those types of other machines. then get a touch screen monitor (they're not cheap, sorry). i know windows 7 supports touch screens but not sure about the other o/ses. i would assume they did with the right drivers and programs though. as for the cpu "?", i think it matters which one you get. some have atoms and ions while some have zif slot for changing the cpu. seems to me that i have seen all in one touches with core 2 duos and other cpus. in any case, the idea of putting a video card or something of that sort is out of the question. having options might be good down the road when the hardware gets outdated (which happens way to fast for the expense). your best bet if research it on your own before any purchases as you are stuck with the bill and the machine. hope that helps.
